Services

Families are referred to The Drake House through referral partners in the community. Basic criteria for referrals include:

  • Documented homelessness
  • A family unit of a single mother with one or more minor children
  • Mother is over the age of 21
  • Ties to the North Fulton community
  • Drug and alcohol free
  • Employed or employable
  • Legal U.S. resident

Upon admission, families sign a resident contract and agree to adhere to family guidelines. They participate in an empowerment planning process and develop a goal plan. Weekly meetings are held with their family manager and the family attends weekly life skills classes.

The Steps of the Program:

  • Referral from sister agency, school, or church
  • Initial screening by Staff Social Worker
  • Enrollment in The Drake House residential program
  • Assessment of services needed
  • Development of empowerment plan
  • Implementation of service support
  • Graduation to independent housing or other stable housing plan
