Services
Families are referred to The Drake House through referral partners in the community. Basic criteria for referrals include:
- Documented homelessness
- A family unit of a single mother with one or more minor children
- Mother is over the age of 21
- Ties to the North Fulton community
- Drug and alcohol free
- Employed or employable
- Legal U.S. resident
Upon admission, families sign a resident contract and agree to adhere to family guidelines. They participate in an empowerment planning process and develop a goal plan. Weekly meetings are held with their family manager and the family attends weekly life skills classes.
The Steps of the Program:
- Referral from sister agency, school, or church
- Initial screening by Staff Social Worker
- Enrollment in The Drake House residential program
- Assessment of services needed
- Development of empowerment plan
- Implementation of service support
- Graduation to independent housing or other stable housing plan
