Is The Drake House a shelter?
The Drake House is not a shelter. Shelters traditionally offer a hot meal and a bed overnight. The Drake House is a residential assessment center, which provides crisis housing for homeless mothers and their children with comprehensive services to facilitate self-sufficiency.

What are the requirements to get into The Drake House?
To be eligible for The Drake House you must:

  • Be referred by an agency, service, school, religious organization
  • Be a single mother with minor children (children must attend school if school-aged)
  • Be homeless
  • Be employed or employable
  • Be drug and alcohol free
  • Have ties to North Fulton
  • Sign a contract and agree to participate in program services

How long can I stay?
The Drake House is a 90 day emergency housing program. Families must achieve milestone goals in order to remain program compliant.  Should additional time be needed, an extension request will be considered.

How much does it cost?
The Drake House does not charge for housing. There is a mandatory savings program for working parents and a budget established.

Do you test for drugs?
The Drake House does test for drugs and alcohol. Use of drugs or alcohol while enrolled the program will result in immediate termination of housing and all services.

What kind of housing do you provide?
The Drake House provides fully furnished 1 and 2-bedroom individual apartment homes within the City of Roswell. Housing is on the bus line and close to shopping.

Is this a religious program?
The Drake House is not a religious program. However, it is founded on Judeo – Christian principles and morals.
