HousingThe Drake House Residential Assessment Center addresses a long-standing need for emergency housing for women and children in the north Fulton community. We offer residential housing and in-depth assessments to approximately 40-50 families a year. The target population is single mothers with minor children. These mothers may be unemployed or underemployed and lack sufficient income to meet all of the expenses of life in the North Fulton community. Families are referred to The Drake House through referral partners in the community. Basic criteria for referrals include:
The Drake House provides fully furnished 1 and 2-bedroom individual apartment homes to families in need. Each apartment has a computer and internet access. A laundry room and food pantry is also available to help meet the family’s needs. Housing is on the bus line and close to shopping. Upon admission, families sign a Resident Contract and Family Expectations and Guidelines. This outlines the expectations of family’s during their stay and also informs the families of the provisions available to them. The Drake House Program is a 90 day emergency housing program. An extension may be requested by families who are employed and contributing towards savings for move out. |
